Mentor Walk: Branding

  • Whole Foods Market 63-97 Kensington High Street London, England, W8 5SE United Kingdom (map)

Kickstart your week with a foodpreneur morning walk through London from Whole Foods Market, Kensington to Selfridges, Oxford Street.

Our first mentor walk is all about branding, as we wander through Hyde Park and down Oxford Street with five of our favourite industry icons in tow. If you're a food and drink founder, join us on this 45 minute morning walk through the park and share a coffee with us and our branding mentors at Selfridges Food Hall before going about your day.

What's a Mentor Walk?

Our mentor walks are a great way to hang out with experienced, successful food and drink entrepreneurs and get to know how they brought their visions to life. We thought it would be fun to walk through London whilst chatting to a few industry greats and fellow foodies at the same time. Each walk focuses on a different aspect of food and drink entrepreneurship and you will be joined by five industry leaders.

Time & Place

Start: 08:00am 20th February in front of Whole Foods Market, Kensington High Street

End: 09:00am 20th February (the walk is only 45 minutes and then we'll have coffee) at Selfridges Food Hall

Our Mentors

Hugh Thomas, Co-CEO & Co-Founder, Ugly Brands Ltd @uglyhugh

Hugh cut his teeth branding for Heinz and Vita Coco before starting his own brand Ugly - a range of 100% natural, fruit-infused sparkling waters with nothing to hide - in 2015. His profound understanding of branding in the digital age and infectious enthusiasm mean that 2017 will be a big year for Ugly.

Gracie and SophieTyrrell, Co-Founders, Squirrel Sisters @squirrelsisters

The Squirrel Sisters have an award winning range of 100% natural, gluten and dairy free products with no added sugar. They launched their ‘healthy but fun’ raw energy bars straight into Whole Foods and Planet Organic and most recently into 250 Boots stores nationwide.

Jason Gibb, Co-Founder, Nudo, Bread & Butter, FoodHub @Jason_Gibb

Jason has an eclectic background as a scientist, TV producer and lake monster hunter. He also founded an olive oil business called Nudo which sold into retailers around the world including Waitrose, John Lewis, Selfridges and Dean & Deluca. Most recently he co-founded Bread & Butter with the mission to stop other people making the same basic mistakes that he made.

Tara Mei, Founder, Kitchen Table Projects, Bread & Butter @kitchtablepro

Tara has worked with over 500 food and drink brands, supporting them through business bootcamps (with M&S), speed mentoring sessions, networking nights and retail pop-ups (in Old Street and Oxford Circus) with her retail incubator the Kitchen Table Projects. She was recently awarded the prestigious accolade of Top New Talent by the Grocer magazine.

More mentors will be added in the run up to the walk. Spaces are limited, so book early to secure your spot.
