TUTOR PROFILES

Tessa StuartTessa works with brands to make sure that their products on the supermarket shelves attract shoppers’ attention and are bought (clients include innocent, Rude Health, Pip & Nut and Graze). She interviews customers in-store and her clients use her learnings to adjust packaging, pricing, or (unfamiliar) ingredients, and gauge reaction to new products before they launch.

Simon Bishop – For over 25 years Simon has worked at all levels in food and drink manufacturing; from board to shopfloor, developing and managing a range of technical and product development teams (at Greencore and Premier Foods). He now uses his expertise to advise startups and SMEs (including Rebel Kitchen, Plenish and Ice Kitchen) and retailers on white label manufacturing (including M&S and Fortum & Masons).

Claire Brumby – is a coach, mentor and consultant to new and established food businesses nationally and internationally, using experience gained through both founding, growing and exiting her own multi award winning food brand and working with hundreds of food businesses and their founders. She runs workshops and bootcamps on many subjects involved in launching and growing a food business, is a keynote speaker and also a best selling author and business book award finalist with The Winning Mix: launch and grow your food business without selling your soul.

Duncan Di Biase & Helena Murphy – Raising Partners co-founders Helena and Duncan bring their wealth of experience to aid entrepreneurs and demystify the investment landscape. Helena has over a decade of experience as an entrepreneur – starting her first business at 16, she was part of the first cohort at Espark and raised her first round of investment aged 19 whilst studying for a Masters at the University of St Andrews. Duncan also has a wealth of entrepreneurial experiences which cover the health and fitness industry, IT, logistics and AI software. The pair joined forces in 2017 to found Raising Partners and have raised north of £30 million for 30 different business.

PANELLIST PROFILES

Nick Kilby – co-founder of teapigs, Nick describes himself as a tea evangelist. Together with Louisa they founded teapigs in 2006 with a mission to get the nation drinking real tea. Since then the brand has evolved to include a range of 29 whole leaf teas, and is stocked in major retailers and in over 35 countries.

Kamil Shah – Kamil is co-founder of Olive Branch who sell award winning Greek speciality food products. Since their launch in 2011 their oil is one of the best selling in speciality retail, being ranked 5 times in the Guild of Fine Food Best Brands Survey. They supply their range of oils, tapenades, mezze dips, and salad dressings to speciality retail, high end grocers, top restaurants and export. Kamil oversees most aspects of the business but his focus is the commercial direction, marketing and finance.
