Join us for our legendary monthly socials, where food and drink founders and industry experts gather for an evening of networking, sharing new ideas and advice, learning new things and making new friends. If you’re thinking of attending the Bread & Jam festival in October, our socials are a great way to dip your toe into our supportive community.
Our socials are free to attend: No need to arrive on the dot or stay ‘til the end - it’s a social!
What happens: At each Social we are joined by an industry icon who will share invaluable industry insights to kick the evening off, around 7pm. They will give a very short talk, swiftly followed by a Question & Answer session and networking.
This month’s theme: Working With Wholesalers & Distributors
Guest Speaker: Dan Broughton, Co-founder, Dalston's Soda Co. Dan has been working with food and drink brands for 18 years. In that time he’s worked for Pete & Johnny Smoothies, helping to pioneer the smoothie category before Innocent even launched. Then Green & Black’s chocolate as Head of Impulse, helping the business build sales from £3M - £30M before it’s successful exit to Cadbury. Dan then jumped into the mighty Cadbury business to head up national accounts, before taking his first director role at Cawston Press, where he was instrumental in putting the brand on the map and building sales from sub £1M to £10M within a four-year period.
Over the past three years Dan has come in to help pioneer the craft soda revolution by co-founding Dalston’s Soda Co. The brand has grown from hand making everything in a converted East London railway arch, to now being one of the fastest growing soft drink brands in the UK - on track to sell four million drinks this year. Dan has proven ability with brand building at the start-up, small, medium and large phases and brings a wealth of real-life experience in how to create, grow and ignite commercial performance.
Who will be there: Food and drink entrepreneurs, individuals thinking of starting a food & drink business, industry experts.
